Video: Woman on Motorized Suitcase Flees Fla. Officer on Bike

Body camera footage captured an Orlando police officer on a bicycle pursuing an apparently intoxicated passenger through the airport.

Newly released body camera footage shows an unusual pursuit between a Florida police officer and an apparently intoxicated passenger who fled from an airport gate on a motorized suitcase.

The incident happened in April at Orlando International Airport when a passenger heading to New York City was told she couldn't board a Southwest Airlines flight because she appeared intoxicated, WKMG-TV reports. When a police officer was called to the gate, he observed that the woman's eyes looked glassy, had trouble standing and detected an odor of alcohol.

In the video, the officer is heard telling the woman that she needed to go to the terminal and try to sober up. Instead, the woman cursed at the officer and gave him the finger before rolling away on her motorized suitcase.

“We’re going to have a bike pursuing a suitcase in a minute,” the officer said on his radio.

The chase finally ended at the airport's tram, and the officer ordered her to leave the secure area. But after about 10 minutes and a warning from the officer that she would be arrested if she didn't move, the woman appears to spit at the officer.

The woman was arrested and taken to a cruiser outside. Once in the vehicle, she allegedly ripped the fabric headliner and defecated on the seat, which caused around $1,200 in damage.
